Several sports clubs cancelled their planned training sessions after the mass shooting.
One of them was the youth team of Örebro Syrianska IF.
It's very tragic and terrible. We are a club that operates and has connections in the vicinity of the area where this happened, says chairman Abraham Oktay.
We have checked if any player has any connection to what has happened. Fortunately, we have no direct contact at present, at least in the A-team.
"Many evil forces"
The A-team will on Wednesday complete the planned training match against Degerfors, where a minute of silence will be held.
There are many evil forces out there. But we don't want them to affect the good forces.
Örebro SK is also affected by what has happened.
It's something you didn't think would happen in Sweden or in Örebro, for that matter, says Jonas Lindegren, who also reports that they have not received reports that anyone in their association is directly affected.
The football section has now focused on being a safe and gathering point.
I think that's every association's task here in the Örebro area.
They will also offer free admission and refreshments at Sunday's training match against Jönköping Södra.
"Continue with daily life"
The Swedish Sports Confederation and SISU Sports Educators in Örebro County welcome the associations' initiative to be a safe place.
It's extremely important in situations like this that children and young people can continue with their daily life as they know it, says Kristin Pleick, acting district sports manager.
They have spread material to the associations during the day on how to have conversations with children when a crisis situation has occurred.
Then we have also mediated material on crisis management for the associations, so they can work on their own handling.
