Four women have been arrested and identified as Ukrainian agents in Russia.
According to the Russian security service FSB, the four had been recruited by Ukraine's intelligence agency. The arrests took place in the cities of Rostov-on-Don and Voronezh in Russia, as well as in Sevastopol on the annexed Crimean Peninsula.
The women had, according to Russian claims, been trained in Ukraine to handle weapons and explosives, with the aim of "committing sabotage and terrorism" against high-ranking military personnel and the Russian power grid, according to FSB. The authority reports that it has seized a large quantity of explosives and that all four women have confessed, which is difficult or impossible for outsiders to get an independent picture of.
The authorities in Russia have, alongside the ongoing invasion war in the neighboring country, continuously arrested a large number of people accused of collaborating with Ukraine.
