A foster father in Dalarna is sentenced to 11 years and 10 months in prison for subjecting three girls placed with him to a large number of sexual assaults.
The assaults took place over a period of 20 years, and the man is convicted, among other things, of aggravated rape of a child, rape, attempted rape, child pornography offenses, and exploitation for sexual posing, local media report.
This stands out as an unusually large case, we have a total of 1,700 incidents in the indictment, says prosecutor Karolina Lassbo to SVT News Dalarna.
The man, who is in his 70s, is convicted despite denying the charges. He is also ordered to pay damages of over two million kronor to the children.
