The Patent and Market Court prohibits a company that has sent out letters that look like invoices to car owners from continuing with its sales methods.

"It has been difficult for the recipients to see through the shipment. It is designed so that you believe it is an extension of a guarantee for the car. And then you have paid", says Louise Larsson, process councilor at the Consumer Agency, KO, in a press release.

The company, Avendo, now Safetyline Security Distribution i Borås AB, has also demanded payment for products that the consumer has not ordered.

The court has also decided that the prohibitions apply immediately. The company and the person behind it shall also pay a fine of two million kronor and half a million kronor, respectively.
