The attacks occurred outside Borgstena. A total of 18 sheep were attacked, seven of them were found dead and eleven were put down due to their injuries, according to the county administrative board.

The decision affects parts of Borås, Ulricehamn and Herrljunga.

According to the latest predator inventory, there are no stationary wolves in the area. Therefore, protective hunting has been announced.

Protective hunting will be conducted in the area where the attacks have occurred. If a wolf makes an attack within this area in the coming weeks, then the people assigned to conduct the protective hunting may shoot the wolf, says Nelly Grönberg, predator handler at the county administrative board, to Borås Tidning.

The county administrative board has sent saliva samples for analysis to clarify whether it was a wolf that attacked the sheep.
