A jury has found Robert Telles guilty of stabbing Jeff German, an investigative reporter for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, to death in 2022.
The 69-year-old German had spent 44 years of his professional life writing about crime, court cases, and corruption in what he called "Sin city".
In 2022, Robert Telles attempted to be re-elected to the office he had held for four years, but failed due to the articles German had published about misconduct at Telles' office and romantic relationships he had with an employee.
The prosecutor claims that Telles accused German of ruining his career and reputation and jeopardizing his marriage. He sought out German at his home and killed him.
Telles has denied killing the reporter and said that he is not a person who would stab anyone with a knife.
