Parts of Milan have been flooded after northern Italy was hit by heavy rainfall.
The most affected regions are Veneto, Lombardy, and Piedmont. In the latter, a man is missing after his tractor was swept away by water masses north of Turin. Further west, two bridges have collapsed and isolated villages in Val di Susa.
Around Milan, two rivers, Seveso and Lambro, have overflowed, causing major problems in the metropolis. The rescue service has been called to around 50 locations to help those in distress, according to Rai.
At the same time, southern Italy is still suffering from severe drought. The exception is Bari, in southeastern Italy, which according to Rai was hit by a tornado on Thursday.
