For example, Kronoberg's Governor Maria Arnholm is registered in a villa on Lidingö, and Sörmland's Governor Beatrice Ask lives in an apartment in Stockholm.
Kalmar's Governor Allan Widman is registered in Malmö, but claims that he lives at the residence most of the time. The Governor of Blekinge, Ulrica Messing, has chosen to remain registered in Kosta in Småland for private reasons.
Johan Sterte, Governor of Västmanland, says that he both lives at the residence in Västerås and with his family in Älmhult.
"The residence requirement implies that one has an obligation to be resident at the residence, but this does not mean that one must be registered there", Sterte writes to Altinget.
Minister for Civil Affairs Erik Slottner (KD) emphasizes that the current arrangement is based on the Governor being anchored in their county. He sees no reason to change the residence requirement as it is currently formulated.
