It is a decrease of two people compared to 2023 when seven cases led to entry bans.

The trade union DIK organizes the country's librarians. The union chairperson Anna Troberg thinks that the entry ban is not enough to address the disorderly environment in the libraries.

The social unrest in the country's libraries is multifaceted. It involves everything from general disorder to threats and assaults. All of this is problematic and must be taken seriously, but it is relatively few incidents that are of such a severity that an entry ban would be relevant, she says to Magasin K.

The law on entry bans was expanded in July 2022 to also apply to libraries, where libraries, after a prosecutor's decision, should be able to ban visitors who commit crimes or harass others. The motivation behind the expansion of the law was to increase safety for librarians.
