Jonathan Kaplan studied film with Martin Scorsese at New York University, and in 1967 Kaplan completed his award-winning short film "Stanley".
In "Anklagad" Jodie Foster played one of the main roles, and won the award for best actor for her role in the film.
In the 1980s, Kaplan directed a number of films for TV and music videos and collaborated with musicians and singers such as Barbra Streisand, John Mellencamp and Rod Stewart. Among his later films are, among other things, "Förbjudet begär" with Kurt Russell, Madeleine Stowe and Ray Liotta in the main roles, and "Brokedown palace" with Claire Danes.
