Extended Suspicions after Murder in Skurup

If more people had been at home when a 56-year-old man was shot to death in his home in Skurup, the entire family would have been in danger. This is the opinion of the prosecutor, who has now expanded the suspicions of crime against the two children who are suspected of the murder on August 10.

The two underage boys are now also suspected of accessory to murder, reports Ystads Allehanda.

The suspicion that has arisen is that they were not only after the father. If there had been more family members in the house, they would also have risked being shot, says prosecutor Tomas Olvmyr to the newspaper.

In Ystad District Court, a trial is underway against the son of the murdered man, who is charged with attempted murder in Skurup twelve days before the murder of his father. The son himself claims that he was walking around armed because there was a threat against him and that he misinterpreted a situation and shot in self-defense.

A man in his 30s is suspected of aiding and abetting the murder of the father. He is also suspected of having set fires at a neighboring house on two occasions in July.

A possible connection between the fires and the murder is being investigated by the police.

It's clear that one can suspect a connection. The sequence of events is quite striking, says the prosecutor.
