Three people were arrested in Copenhagen during the day. It concerns three younger Swedish citizens, says Jens Jespersen at the Copenhagen police during a press conference.
They are between 15 and 20 years old, he says.
The Copenhagen police stated earlier during the day that it concerned three men.
The first Swede was arrested near the crime scene. The two others were arrested during an operation at Copenhagen Central Station. They are expected to be brought before a detention judge on Thursday.
We made finds at the crime scene and it is in connection with the preliminary investigation that we can arrest them, says Jespersen and adds that the two Swedes were sitting on a train when they were arrested.
Arrested with bag
The train had Padborg, which is located in southern Denmark on the border to Germany, as its destination.
I have no idea where they were planning to go.
In connection with the arrest, the police seized a bag that will be examined by technicians.
We must ensure that it does not contain anything dangerous. We will also investigate more locations linked to the perpetrators.
The exact suspicion of crime is not established, but at present, they are expected to be requested to be detained on suspicion of illegal possession of weapons. According to the Danish police, two hand grenades were used in the act.
Building damaged
It is currently unclear whether the Swedes acted on their own or on behalf of others.
No one was injured in the explosions, but according to Jespersen, a building near the Israeli embassy was damaged.
The Copenhagen police stated early on Wednesday morning that they are investigating a possible link to the Israeli embassy.
If the embassy was a target, or if something else was the target, it is too early to say anything about, says Jespersen.
