The Family – a warm embrace, or a place where all oxygen runs out? In a new collective exhibition at Fotografiska in Stockholm, three female photographers explore the concept of family.
Ewa Stackelberg, Anna Clarén, and Hannah Modigh contribute with three different stories in "On being family".
Modigh travels to India to search for the woman who was her rock during her upbringing, while Clarén portrays what it's like to be a parent to a child who will always need an adult's support. In Ewa Stackelberg's images, the family appears as a place for both love and protection, but also for unhealed wounds that are passed on from generation to generation.
"On being family" is on display at Fotografiska from April 11 to August 31.
