The daily operations, which have received support from public actors, work to help abused women, men, and children. Now, a woman, who for several years has been the face of the operations, is being prosecuted for having embezzled the non-profit association's funds into her own pocket.
Between 2015 and 2023, the woman used the daily operations' funds for private purchases on 339 occasions, according to the indictment.
The woman is alleged to have bought goods worth over 675,000 kronor using the non-profit association's funds, which is classified as gross embezzlement against the principal.
The woman is also being prosecuted for a serious fraud against the association. Through a fabricated agreement on a membership in a network for executives and forged signatures, she deceived the association out of 15,000 kronor.
According to the indictment, she also deceived the local parish out of 125,000 kronor.
The woman has been dismissed from her employment at the daily operations.
