Swedish-born Mariann Edgar Budde was globally praised – and criticized – after in her sermon during the presidential inauguration having appealed to Donald Trump to protect hbtq-persons and migrants.
"She was nasty in tone and not convincing or smart", wrote Trump on social media after the inauguration.
In September, she was to preach in Storkyrkan in Stockholm before the opening of the Riksmöte – but now the sermon has been moved to Uppsala.
There has been such great interest in getting to hear her preach. We have received a multitude of requests, says Mona Wahlund at Uppsala diocese.
Then Storkyrkan was not suitable as it is closed to the public that day.
It's just not possible to go there and listen to her lecture there. So we thought it's better to be in Uppsala Cathedral which is open to the public. It's larger and we can broadcast it live, says Wahlund.
Mariann Edgar Budde comes to Uppsala on 9 September. Then the opening of the Riksmöte also takes place.
