The data center will be used by Egypt's military, for surveillance and other public services.
Huawei - blacklisted by the US - has proposed in its bid to install 1,408 Ascent 950 series chips to handle cloud services and another 600 chips for a separate system to control AI models as they are developed, Bloomberg reports, citing sources and documents.
The deal would be Huawei's first major export deal with advanced AI chips.
According to the news agency, the US State Department is said to have tried to persuade tech giants such as Nvidia, AMD and Microsoft to submit a competing offer.
