Viking won the second leg of the playoff against Dinamo Zagreb 3–1, for a 5–3 aggregate score.
It was 1–1 at half-time. At the start of the second half, the Norwegian home team scored two quick goals in the 48th (Edvin Austbø) and 50th (Tobias Moi) minutes after poor defending by the Croatians.
The last time two Norwegian teams played in the Champions League was in 1999, when Rosenborg advanced to what was then called the play-offs, while Molde finished last in the group stage.
Bodø/Glimt were last season's surprise team in the Champions League, reaching the round of 16. On Tuesday, they secured Champions League football again this season with a 6–1 aggregate win over NEC Nijmegen of the Netherlands.
