One of the attacks took place west of the city of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza Strip, where a refugee camp was subjected to an air raid. There, 11 people were killed, including the head of Gaza's police forces and a deputy police chief.
According to Israel's military, the deputy police chief was responsible for collaborating with Hamas' military branch and for planning attacks against Israeli forces.
A further 14 people are reported to have been killed in two other attacks on the Gaza Strip.
Despite the bloody New Year's weekend when Israel attacked Palestinian targets, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has threatened to step up attacks in Gaza even further.
