The rescue operation during the large fire at Lisebergs water world Oceana worked well, despite among other things a gas explosion. This is the conclusion of the internal investigation of the rescue work, according to the rescue service Storgöteborg (RSG).
"Despite the tragic outcome, we can conclude in the investigation that the operation was carried out efficiently and in accordance with RSG's instructions and guidelines. Unforeseen events can always occur during a rescue operation, but our personnel handled the situation in the best possible way", says investigator Göran Kallin in a press release.
The rescue service's investigation has not covered what caused the fire.
It was only a few months left until the opening when Oceana caught fire in February this year. A 51-year-old man died in the fire. The fire destroyed large parts of the water world.
