Queen Margrethe, who abdicated in January and handed over the throne to her son Frederik, has fallen and been hospitalized, announces the Danish royal house.
The fall occurred on Wednesday and the queen, who formally holds the role of regent, is doing well under the circumstances. She is admitted to Rigshospitalet for observation, according to the court's communications chief Lene Balleby.
