The death toll after Hurricane Helene in the USA is being written down by 30 people. This is after the area of Asheville in the state of North Carolina miscounted the number of dead.

"In the early aftermath of Hurricane Helene, all deaths were classified as storm-related from Buncombe County. But as the days went by, the authorities could identify who had passed away due to the hurricane, which actually came from the area, and who had passed away due to other causes", according to a statement from the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office.

Over 200 people died in the hurricane, which was the deadliest hurricane to hit the USA's mainland since Katrina in 2005.
