A 35-year-old woman was killed and ten other people were injured, including a nine-year-old boy, according to Ukrainian authorities.
Fires broke out at six different addresses and apartment buildings, cars, a church, and an educational facility were damaged in the attack, according to the Ukrainian state emergency service.
A critical heat pipeline was damaged in several places and over 40,000 people are now without heat, the city's mayor Hennadij Truchanov announced. Repair work is underway, and critical healthcare facilities are receiving heat with the help of generators. However, others, including large apartment buildings, will have to temporarily manage without heat, while the nighttime temperature can drop below zero.
The mayor announced that warm drinks and blankets are being distributed to help people keep warm.
