A 41-year-old Danish man has been arrested for involvement in an incident where a Swedish man has been sitting in custody, suspected of possessing two hand grenades.
The Danish man is suspected of complicity in the possession. Documents show that it was he who handed over the hand grenades to the Swedish man. He paid the Swede, arranged a hotel room, and acted as a chauffeur, reports news agency Ritzau.
According to the Danish police, the 41-year-old is part of the gang criminal environment. However, it is unclear which gang the man belongs to.
It was on Tuesday that a 25-year-old Swedish man was arrested with two hand grenades in the Tingbjerg area of Copenhagen.
He was arrested the day after and is now suspected of possessing hand grenades. He is also suspected of a planned explosion in Copenhagen, which failed because he was caught by the police.
Prosecutor Astrid Helmsø stated in connection with the custody hearing that the intention was to harm others.
The Swedish man has admitted to possessing the hand grenades, but denies the allegation that they were to be detonated.
