The Olympic handball has begun in Paris – and for Denmark, it was a very comfortable premiere win over Slovenia.

The Danish women's national team – which has three Olympic gold medals on its merit list from before – took early command and led by three goals at halftime, 14–11.

In the second half, the Danes pulled away further and Slovenia was never close to being able to threaten. The final result was 27–19.

For Slovenia's women's national team, it was their first handball match in the Olympics ever.

Denmark and Slovenia are playing in the same group as Sweden, Norway, Germany, and South Korea.

Sweden is playing its premiere match against Norway at 21.00 on Thursday evening.
