Efter nya regnuppehåll kunde Robert Dahlgren win the second final in the STCC-première in Gothenburg.
Rain again posed problems for the organisers. The qualifying heats had to be cancelled and shortened from four to three laps.
However, when the racing finally got underway, it was a repeat of the second final day: Jimmy Eriksson against Robert Dahlgren. Dahlgren had won on the first day but was later disqualified due to a faulty mounting.
Now he took his revenge and was able to win his first race of the season after two heat wins. In the final heat, he won by a margin of just 13 hundredths.
Eriksson drives a Tesla in this year's STCC. He is part of Brink Motorsport. Since 27 October 2023, IF Metall has been on strike at Tesla's service centres in Sweden in an attempt to persuade Tesla to sign a collective agreement for its members.
And team manager Tobias Brink is marking the occasion.
The new start of STCC has generated attention. Electric cars and a head-to-head format on small temporary circuits make it possible to move the competition into the city centre. Later in the season, a race will be held in Helsingborg, and several cities are now investigating the feasibility of joining the programme in future seasons.
Uppsala is just one of four cities that have expressed interest in hosting events in the future.
And STCC's CEO Micke Bern is pleased with the premiere in central Gothenburg - if it hadn't been for the rain.
