Committee says no – does not summon the Prime Minister

The Defence Committee goes against Chairman Peter Hultqvist (S) and does not summon Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) to the committee. We have been denied this and I think that is very regrettable, says Hultqvist.

He had requested that Kristersson answer questions in the committee about his security adviser Henrik Landerholm, who has caused several security incidents. Landerholm has, among other things, forgotten confidential documents at a conference center in 2023. They were later found by cleaning staff, according to Dagens Nyheter.

Via KU?

A majority in the committee, however, think that the matter should be handled through the KU notification that the Left Party made against the Prime Minister on Wednesday following the revelations.

I think it's bad. We need to clean up the culture that has developed around Landerholm and his staff unit, which means that there is an acceptance of recurring carelessness with documents, says Hultqvist.

How one acts from a government office, and especially regarding a person who has such an important role, is something that foreign intelligence services study. It can also be a dimension in the context that is worth taking note of.

According to Hultqvist, the Social Democrats and the Green Party were against the committee's decision.

Has Spoken

V-leader Nooshi Dadgostar said in connection with the KU notification that Landerholm cannot remain. Hultqvist does not go as far, but says that his confidence in the security adviser is limited.

He has put himself in a situation where questions are constantly being raised about his suitability.

Kristersson says during a question period in parliament that he has said what there is to say on the matter and that he trusts the government office's handling.

The matter is now reported to the Constitutional Committee. I look forward to their work.
