The British prosecution authority is not pursuing the two cases of "unlawful assault" that Harvey Weinstein has been accused of.
Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein is accused of committing the crimes against a woman in London in August 1996, but the charges are now being dropped.
Four years ago, Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape and sexual assault against two women in New York. In April this year, the New York Supreme Court overturned the verdict citing errors during the trial, but a new trial may await him in the fall.
The allegations against Harvey Weinstein surfaced in October 2017 and became the starting point for the #metoo movement. In total, nearly 90 women have accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault and in some cases rape.
