A car drove into an outdoor restaurant in central Paris on Wednesday evening.
According to reports from several French media outlets, one person has died. Six people are reported to have been injured, with three people seriously injured.
The driver of the car initially fled the scene. The police then arrested the passenger, who according to reports has tested positive for both drugs and alcohol.
The driver was later found and has now been arrested, says the prosecutor to BFMTV. The police have launched an investigation into manslaughter.
The police and rescue services are on site. The motive is unclear. According to police sources, they are now working on the hypothesis that it was an accident.
