It was last week that Mjällby's coach Anders Torstensson announced that he had been diagnosed with a form of blood cancer, chronic lymphatic leukemia.

"Despite three very nasty words in the diagnosis, I've already realized that there are worse forms of cancer. I'm doing (actually) well under the circumstances, even though there have been a number of tears", wrote Torstensson on his Facebook page.

Torstensson is on sick leave from Mjällby but will be sitting on the bench tonight in a "passive leadership role".

"That Anders is on the bench tonight in a passive role is something we're very happy and grateful for, but it doesn't have to mean that he will be against IFK Norrköping and onwards. Anders will undergo a number of further tests in the near future and until then, he is not available to the media and the team is led by Karl Marius (Aksum) and Christofer (Augustsson)", says club manager Jacob Lennartsson to Mjällby's website.
