Local police in the American state of Washington recently received an emergency call that stood out among the emergency calls – a woman was being stalked by dozens of raccoons that had gathered at her property in Poulsbo, near Seattle.
The woman stated that she had been forced to flee her home after 50 to 100 raccoons took over her garden and acted aggressively, says a police spokesperson.
The woman told that she had started feeding a raccoon family several decades ago. There were no problems until about six weeks ago – when suddenly around 100 raccoons appeared instead of a handful.
According to the police, the animals became increasingly aggressive, "demanding food, stalking her day and night", scratching her house and door, and surrounding her car.
Since the police determined that no crimes had been committed, the woman was referred to wildlife handlers.
