Butch and Suni stuck in space: "Missing the dogs"

The duo was launched with the spacecraft Starliner in June and the plan was to spend eight days on the ISS. Technical problems have caused the return to be delayed and are expected to take place first in February.

But "Butch" and Suni seem to be taking it all in stride.

The positive thing is that we are here with our friends and that we get a ride home. We look forward to the coming months, says Suni Williams during a live press conference on Friday evening, Swedish time.

Williams, who made her first spaceflight in 2006, adds that she misses her dogs and her friends, but that both she and her colleague are looking forward to voting in the American presidential election on November 5 from space.

I sent down my request for a ballot today, says "Butch" Wilmore and notes that as astronauts, they have learned to adapt to circumstances.

Eight days, eight months, nine months, ten months – regardless of what it becomes, we will do our best every day, because that is what is required of those who do this.
