Already on August 30, "Borderlands" will be available on digital VOD platforms in the USA, after having premiered in theaters on August 9.

The Eli Roth-directed "Borderlands" is one of the year's big films that has received the worst criticism in 2024, with around 10 percent on the critic database Rotten Tomatoes. Something that also places it on the list of the ten worst-received video game film adaptations ever.

According to Forbes, "Borderlands", which cost around 120 million dollars, has so far only brought in 18 million dollars. The film is expected to lose 100 million dollars, including marketing costs.
