Bollywood Star Saif Ali Khan Stabbed at Home

India is shaken by an attack on one of the country's most well-known film stars. The actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed after he had confronted someone who had broken into his home.

The 54-year-old Bollywood star who was taken to hospital in Mumbai has been operated on for the injuries. Saif Ali Khan received six stab wounds, two of which were deep and one came close to the spine, according to the news agency Press Trust of India, citing the doctors.

The clock was half past two in the night when a person broke into the house and attacked the actor, according to the police. One of Khan's employees who was in the house was also stabbed and has received hospital care.

The intruder fled after the deed and is still at large.

The award-winning actor Saif Ali Khan, who is also a producer, has made around 70 roles on film and TV. He is the son of the popular Indian cricketer Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi and Bollywood star Sharmila Tagore.
