"The situation is extremely alarming. With the events of the past few days, the conflict in the region risks escalating", says Foreign Minister Tobias Billström (M) in a written comment to TT. This after the terrorist-designated Hamas leader Ismail Haniya was killed in Iran's capital Tehran on Tuesday night.
Billström says that an escalation must be avoided and that "everyone" must now work to prevent it.
He also emphasizes the importance of Swedes in Lebanon leaving the country, as the recent events show how serious the situation is.
"If the conflict continues to escalate, you cannot count on getting help from the state to leave the country. Swedes in Lebanon should leave the country while it is possible."
