The power technology concern Hitachi Energy has signed a contract worth 2.5 billion kronor with Svenska kraftnät, reports Dagens industri.
The contract is one of the largest of its kind in Sweden and concerns an order for seven large transformers and 48 so-called shunt reactors.
The order strengthens Hitachi Energy's operations in Sweden. The Switzerland-based company, which was formed when ABB sold its power grid business, has previously also announced that they plan to hire 2,000 new employees.
The contract is the main part of a large procurement from Svenska kraftnät, divided among three different suppliers. This as part of the work to handle the expected increase in electricity consumption in Sweden.
