USA's president Joe Biden promises further help, worth $225 million, to Ukraine.

The announcement comes during a meeting with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj on Friday.

Joe Biden asks Ukraine's people for forgiveness for the delay in receiving news about the US's previous large aid package to Ukraine. The delay is considered to have led to Russian advances on the battlefield.

The American president promises during a meeting with Zelenskyj in Paris additional support of $225 million, equivalent to approximately 2.3 billion Swedish kronor.

The two participated on Thursday in the commemoration of D-Day, 80 years after allied forces invaded the beaches of Normandy.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj received standing ovations when he appeared before the French Parliament on Friday morning.

Zelenskyj warned that other countries besides Ukraine may become targets in the future.

He also thanked France for standing by Ukraine's side in the war.
