The megastar Beyoncé participated in the Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris' election rally in Texas on Saturday night Swedish time. It's time for America to sing a new song, said Beyoncé on stage in her hometown Houston.

The world star, who was accompanied by her mother Tina Knowles and former band colleague Kelly Rowland on stage, further stated that she is not participating as a celebrity or a politician, but as a mother who deeply cares about a world where "we have freedom and control over our bodies, a world where we are not divided".

When Kamala Harris entered to the cheers of her supporters a little later, she continued on the same theme.

To all of you watching from another state: If you think you don't need to worry about Trump's stop to abortions because you live in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Nevada, New York, California, or somewhere else where voters or lawmakers have protected reproductive rights, listen up: No one is safe, said Harris.

The abortion issue, which is deeply disputed in the USA, is one of the cornerstones of Harris' campaign to attract voters. Since the Supreme Court in 2022 revoked the Roe v. Wade case, which established that free abortion is included in the constitutionally protected right to privacy, the issue has been sent back to the states, which in several cases have responded with restrictions on abortion rights.
