The British Film Academy has released its long list ahead of the Bafta gala in February and Ali Abbasi's film "The Apprentice" is included in several categories, including Best Film.
The Swedish-Iranian director's film depicts Donald Trump's early career and also has a chance of nominations for Best Original Screenplay, Hair and Makeup, and Casting. The actors Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong are on the list for Best Leading Role and Best Supporting Role, respectively.
The Swedish director Magnus von Horn's film "The Girl with the Needle", which is Denmark's Oscar submission, is also on the long list for Best Non-English Language Film.
The French musical film "Emilia Pérez" has the most mentions, with 15 nominations.
The films that will finally be nominated for the Bafta Film Awards will be announced on January 15.
