At least 35 people have been killed and 230 injured in a rainstorm in eastern Afghanistan, according to local authorities.
Among the dead are five members of the same family who were killed when the roof of their house collapsed in Nangarhar province. The storm has also destroyed buildings and crops in parts of the province.
According to the UN's World Food Programme WFP, over 300 people have been killed in unusually heavy rainfall in recent months. Thousands of buildings have been destroyed and many survivors have been left homeless and unable to support themselves.
