A person has been hit and injured. It's a man and he has been taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter. He was severely affected by his injuries but awake and able to talk, says police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl shortly after the incident.
Was he hit by one or several shots?
Several shots were fired, but I don't know how many shots hit the victim.
The shooting occurred in a restaurant area in the mall. Just over an hour later, an alarm was raised about a person with a firearm in an industrial area in Huddinge. It's unclear if shots were fired, but no one is reported to have been injured.
Young person arrested
A person under 15 years old was arrested by police in Stuvsta, not far from the industrial area. The teenager is suspected of the shooting in Kungens Kurva, which is classified as attempted murder and serious weapons offense.
The police further state that they are investigating whether shots were fired in the industrial area and whether the teenager has connections to both incidents.
We are investigating two serious crimes and the investigations are currently in different sensitive stages, says Daniel Wikdahl and adds that they suspect a connection between the incidents.
Many people were in the restaurant area in the mall in Kungens Kurva when the incident occurred at lunchtime, and the police have witness statements that they are working with, says he.
Given that it's such an area, there are also surveillance cameras that are of great help in this work.
"Ran with the stretcher"
A witness was outside the mall and saw when the police ran in. A short while later, the injured man was carried out.
It was both ambulance personnel and police who ran with the stretcher and then the helicopter took off two-three minutes later, says the man, who wants to remain anonymous.
Dagens Nyheter has spoken to two women who were in the local area when the shooting occurred. One of them is said to have spoken to the man who was shot just minutes before.
We heard bangs and ran and hid under the tables, says one of the women and continues:
I'm shocked and scared. My legs are just shaking.
Earlier this fall, shootings have occurred in malls in Sollentuna and Kungsbacka.
That it happens again... It shouldn't even happen once. You shouldn't have to be worried about a shooting on a Monday at 12 o'clock, says the witness who spoke to TT.
