News anchor Anders Kraft is leaving TV4 after 28 years, reports Expressen.
"We, several managers at different levels and I, unfortunately have not been able to find another role or suitable task for me," he writes in an email to his colleagues that the newspaper has taken part of.
Anders Kraft has worked both in TV4's "News Morning" and TV4 News and has been one of the channel's most profiled news anchors. In the email, he states that he has asked the management to be able to work at different times and to work with "something other than news for a while", but that they have not been able to find another task for him on the channel.
"This has led to me deciding to leave. 28 years in the box for TV4, including my local, seven years on Nymo, and then +1500 broadcasts on linear evening broadcasts," he writes according to Expressen.
Anders Kraft's resignation comes just over half a year after the profiled news anchor Anna Lindmarker announced that she is leaving TV4 after a major savings package.
I think it's remarkable, she said to TT then, and directed criticism at the channel's cutbacks.
According to TV4 News' chief Fredrick Malmberg, the savings package has nothing to do with Kraft's resignation.
It's entirely Anders' decision and we no longer have savings packages on the news, he says to Aftonbladet.
Malmberg regrets the decision and says that TV4 would have liked to have kept Kraft in the box.
He has meant a lot to us and is very skilled and credible in the box. But Anders has, after careful consideration, come to that decision and we respect it.
