The director Amir Chamdin will direct "Corleone", a new film about the mafia that takes place in the USA and on Sicily, writes Deadline.
The action-thriller is based on a true story about a man who gets caught up in a cat-and-mouse game with one of the first female bosses of the Cosa Nostra mafia organization. The film is written by Sandro Lorino – who comes from the Italian city of Corleone, as well as Rich Ronat and Nate Adams. The producers are German, Italian, and American.
I knew immediately that I had to make this film. This strong script was an opportunity that couldn't be turned down, says Chamdin, who emphasizes that the story is personal for the writers.
Amir Chamdin recently directed "Gustavia – The Story of Sweden's Unknown Prince" at the Royal Opera and has previously made films such as "Börje – the journey of a legend" and "Cornelis", the film about Cornelis Vreeswijk.
