The premiere of V85 is said to be on October 25 this year at Jägersro, which would mark the end of an era in Swedish harness racing.
The decision is said to have been made at ATG's board meeting on Thursday, but the company claims this is incorrect.
"On the other hand, ATG's board has today made the decision that ATG and Svensk Travsport will work together in the spring of 2025 to develop a new Saturday experience. The goal is to have a proposal for ATG's board to make a decision on in June," says Chairman of the Board Peter Norman in a written comment to TT.
The first V75 race was run on October 30, 1993. The horse racing game attracts up to one million Swedish players every Saturday. Trav365 reported at the end of last year that ATG had plans to replace V75 with V85. The news was met with skepticism by both readers and horse racing enthusiasts, writes Aftonbladet.
You should be open to changes, but I don't know if I'm that open to replacing V75. It has been so strong for all these years, said trainer Daniel Redén.
