When Tobias Bergman suddenly left the national team captain job in table tennis in March, the explanation was based on personal problems.

Now the 36-year-old is back and takes on the role of national team captain for the Swedish women, a role he had before the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.

"Tobias will also become the main responsible for the effort on the new Olympic event "mixed team" which from the Olympic Games 2028 in Los Angeles is included in the Olympic table tennis program where women and men form teams", writes the Swedish Table Tennis Association.

Bergman tells about the feelings about being back.

Of course, it was a tumultuous time for me and maybe Swedish table tennis in general as well. But it has been and now it's forward that applies, he says to SVT and continues:

I'm fine. I feel motivated to move forward.
