23-year-old Nygren comes from a strong season in the Danish Super League and FC Nordsjælland, where he was noted for 15 goals.
The fine performances have also given him a place in the Swedish national team, where he, among other things, scored a goal in the 2–0 win against Hungary earlier in June.
It feels fantastic to have signed for Celtic. I have looked forward to this and am very happy to be here, says Nygren in an interview with Celtic TV.
Celtic's coach Brendan Rodgers is pleased with the acquisition.
”Benjamin is an exciting player with a lot of quality. He will bring important qualities to our offense”, says Rodgers.
According to Sky Sports, the transfer sum is around 1.7 million pounds, approximately 22 million Swedish kronor.
