Norwegian Police Complete Investigation of Marius Borg Høiby for 23 Alleged Crimes

The police in Norway have completed the preliminary investigation against "bonus prince" Marius Borg Høiby. The case includes over 20 points – but one case of violence in a close relationship is dropped. He denies the crime for the rape allegations.

Conclusions are now to be submitted to the prosecutor who will decide whether the Norwegian crown princess Mette-Marit's eldest son will be prosecuted. The investigation has included several interrogations, searches and reviews of extensive digital material.

The defendant has been questioned by the police several times during the autumn of 2024 and the spring of 2025. His interrogations are now completed and he has cooperated with the police, says prosecutor Andreas Kruszewski during a press conference.

23 points

The case includes 23 points, according to Andreas Kruszewski. It concerns a case of rape with intercourse and two without, four cases of sexually offensive behavior, one case of violence in a close relationship and two cases of causing bodily harm. It also concerns a case of vandalism, a case of threat, five violations of visitation bans, a case of harassment of a police officer and five traffic offenses.

Andreas Kruszewski does not want to comment on how many plaintiffs are involved but says that the number is two-digit.

However, the prosecution for assault on one of Marius Borg Høiby's former girlfriends is being dropped, which is due to lack of evidence. Several other points have also been dismissed.

The reasons for the dismissal are mainly prescription and evidence reasons, says Andreas Kruszewski.

A case of rape with intercourse that has been dismissed will be appealed, says plaintiff's counsel Hege Salomon to Aftenposten. In another case of rape without intercourse, no decision has yet been made.

Denies crime

28-year-old Borg Høiby, who was arrested on August 4 last year, denies the crime regarding the three rape charges, according to his defense attorney Ellen Holager Andenæs to NTB.

The Norwegian court says to NTB that the case will now "have its course in the judicial system and follow normal procedures".

We have nothing more to add and refer to attorney Holager Andenæs, says communications manager Guri Varpe.
