It became a Swedish prestige meeting during the beach volleyball World Championship tour in Poland.

In a well-played match, Åhman and Hellvig showed why they belong to the absolute world elite by defeating their compatriots Jacob Hölting Nilsson and Elmer Andersson.

The match ended 2–0 in sets for the Swedish gold medalists from the Olympic Games in Paris, with clear set scores: 21–14, 21–18.

Less than two weeks ago, Hölting Nilsson and Andersson won the beach volleyball tournament in Malmö. At the same time, Åhman and Hellvig withdrew from the tournament due to injury.

It is the first time in two years that the Olympic heroes Åhman and Hellvig are participating in a Challenge event on the World Championship tour in beach volleyball – that is, the level below Elite, which they usually compete in. It was also the first time the Swedish pairs faced each other in an official competition.

Both Swedish teams started the tournament by winning their first group matches.
