After a tough start to the premiere of the Champions Hockey League (CHL), Växjö woke up on home ice and won 3–1 against Eisbären Berlin.
It was otherwise the German away team that took the lead 6.57 into the match when Gabriel Fontaine netted behind Adam Åhman in the Växjö goal.
The turnaround came in the middle act. After 2.22, Filip Eriksson scored the equalizer and 68 seconds later, Emil Sylvegård scored 2–1 in numerical superiority.
Just 51 seconds into the third period, Dennis Rasmussen scored 3–1, which became the final result.
