After clearing 3.93 meters, Johanna Duplantis failed to clear 4.05, and then failed three times at 4.13 meters. By then, two of the three Finnish pole vaulters had not even entered the competition.
I wanted to reach high heights, but it has been a long season. I gave my all but it was simply not my day. But I'm really glad to be competing in yellow and blue, it was incredible, says Johanna Duplantis.
In the Stockholm stadium's stands was "Mondo", partly to cheer on the team, but mostly to coach his little sister.
It was incredible, he is the best in the world so I could not have asked for a better coach. It was really fun that he came here and supported me, it means a lot to me, says Johanna Duplantis.
The 22-year-old's personal record is 4.39 meters, which she set earlier this year. That result made her Sweden's second-best for the year, after Kajsa Roth at 4.42.
It was just Roth who became the best Swedish woman in the pole vault, the 19-year-old became third at 4.38 meters. The Finns Elina Lampela and Wilma Murto became first and second, they jumped 4.53 and 4.43 meters respectively.
Saga Andersson, Finland, and Sara Winberg, Sweden, came fourth and fifth, and Johanna Duplantis sixth and last.
