Roger Federer played in over 130 million dollars during his career. In addition, over a billion dollars in sponsorships and various business collaborations were added.

Now, three years after he finally put the racket on the shelf, his wealth is estimated to be 1.1 billion dollars (approximately 10.5 billion kronor), reports Forbes. Much thanks to a successful investment in the Swiss shoe and clothing company On.

With his career and his wealth, Federer joins two very exclusive lists - the one over sports stars with a billion in wealth and the one over sports stars who have earned over a billion during their active career.

On the career list, he has the company of basketball star LeBron James, golfers Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, football players Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi and boxer Floyd Mayweather.

On the wealth list, he stands together with basketball giants Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, LeBron James and Junior Bridgeman, golf star Tiger Woods, and the Romanian tennis player Ion Tiriac who after his career in the 1970s became a successful businessman in the newly opened Romania, with ownership in, among other things, banks, insurance companies, car manufacturers and airlines.
